The third annual gala held by F&BF was a roaring success last night! The virtual experience didn’t dampen spirits, as over 200 people from around the world bopped to music, laughed at comedy, shed a tear at impact stories – and donated towards our vital work.
We were ably hosted by world-renowned funnyman Omid Djalili, who has had the honour of presenting our gala two years in a row! Entertaining us with stories and jokes, he kept the mood buoyant as we moved through the event, describing the Faith & Belief Forum as the “well-wishers of humanity” We are very grateful he decided to support our gala for a second time.
We also heard messages of support from such varied luminaries as HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan, RT Hon Stephen Timms, Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers and more. We are honoured to be seen and supported by so many influential people in the world of faith & belief. Our toe-tapping musical interlude was from Balkan ensemble Paprika Music – you can listen to their music here, we also had an opportunity to hear spoken word poet Dauda Ladejobi, local to Barking & Dagenham.
Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about some of our key programmes – with testimonies, impact reflections and hopeful messages from those involved in ParliaMentors, Barking & Dagenham community projects, School Linking and the London F&BF Community Awards (add links). Special shout out to our brilliant filmmaker David Fenton, who travelled around London during the summer (within COVID restrictions) to personally film interviews with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
We have so many people to thank – if you have donated recently, please include yourself on the list below! Did you miss our gala event? Never fear! You can still pledge to support our vital work in building a more cohesive society – even £10 would make a difference (although you are obviously welcome to donate more)
