Communities Engagement and Events Intern – London

Application deadline: 16/07/2025

We are offering a paid internship in our Communities Team, supporting our projects across London. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the charity sector, specifically in interfaith, community engagement, and events/project management. You will support the delivery of two key events in the F&BF calendar: the inaugural Interfaith Wellbeing Festival (25th Aug 2025) and the London Dangoor Awards (25th November 2025). Both events engage and celebrate grassroots faith communities aiming to bridge divides and polarisation at a time when it is more needed than ever. The work of the Communities Team facilitates meaningful contact across difference, promoting empathy, dialogue, respect, compassion and understanding between people of all faiths and none.

Our projects and events involve many moving parts, so the role calls for someone who is very organised and efficient, who can pick up new tasks quickly, adapt to changing circumstances, and prioritise effectively – all the while communicating proactively with team members. A calm approach and a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude will be essential.

Internship details:

  • Part-time or full-time remote internship contract, working a fixed schedule of either 3, 4 or 5 days per week (we are flexible in how many working days we need and will discuss this with you if you reach the interview stage)
  • Fixed-term internship for 6 months, starting July 2025 and ending Jan 2026.
  • All staff and interns work remotely (without a central office), but this internship will require some travel within London (expenses will be paid) and so we are prioritising those applicants who are already based in the capital.
  • We will prioritise applicants who can attend the events on 25th Aug (all day) and 25th November (all day and evening).
  • Paid at the Real Living Wage of £13.85 per hour in London and £12.60 per hour outside of London. Full details of the pay are included in the internship pack (see below).
