This year we have been establishing ourselves in Greater Manchester; forming connections and building relationships within local communities, with teachers and schools, local authorities and other organisations. “In the past few months, we have started to deliver our EFB workshops in schools and have managed to reach 256 school pupils so far through our work. I am very excited to build on this momentum in the new year, delivering further workshops across the region, reaching even more children and young people though our programmes, and celebrating the wonderful diversity we have here in Manchester.”-Laura Roper, our Programmes Coordinator in Greater Manchester.

Quotes from teachers:

  • “These sessions give students the opportunity to see how people of different faiths communicate with each other with mutual respect. They also allow students to get a lived perspective of religions from religious believers.”
  • “These sessions allow students to communicate and listen to the beliefs and ideas of people they would not necessarily interact with on a daily basis.”
  • “I don’t think there is anything you can do to improve. The speakers and setup was brilliant.”
  • “It was incredibly beneficial to our students, thank you very much.”

Quotes from Students:

  • “An amazing educational session thank you so much to everyone involved in the organising.”
  • “I enjoyed it a lot and feel like I have learned and a different perspective on sharia law.”

We are so pleased to receive the following feedback from teachers and students who have participated in our workshops so far. If you feel inspired and would like to support our programme and get involved you can join our movement and become a volunteer speaker!
