Goodbye 2016! Help us make 2017 a year of interfaith unity

16 / 12 / 16

This is what we need more of in the world.
This is what we need more of in the world.

The festive period is a time for bringing people together. This year, Christmas and Chanukah fall on the same week, and we hope that the spirit of the season will bring people of all faiths and non-religious beliefs together.

After the events of 2016, togetherness and unity is something we desperately need more of. This year we have seen a rise in hate crime since the Brexit vote, the election of Donald Trump as the new US president after a bitterly divisive campaign, as well as an increase in the popularity of far-right groups across Europe.

Now more than ever, 3FF’s work of building good relations between communities is needed. With the challenges we are facing, it’s important to act to counter intolerance, but also to build for a more positive future. 3FF’s programmes invest in a new generation of change-makers in schools and universities, to make sure we, as a society, learn to handle potentially divisive issues better in years to come.

In 2017, we will work hard towards that vision. In 2016…

  • We reached some 10,000 students through our schools work, and 50 schools took part in Faith School Linking.
  • The young diverse leaders on our ParliaMentors programme engaged 2,000 people through their social action projects.
  • Our intercultural and intergenerational 80-voice choir, the Mixed up Chorus, has been busy promoting interfaith unity through song throughout the year.

2017 is the 20th anniversary of 3FF, and what better time to help us make this a year of interfaith unity. We need to grow our work and involve even more people in creating a connected society where bigotry and intolerance has no place.

  • £5 a month or £60 today, could pay for a volunteer speaker in schools to participate in three workshops, reaching up to 200 students.
  • £10 a month or £120 today, could buy the Mixed Up Chorus all the music it needs for a year.
  • £20 a month or £240 today, could subsidise the seed funding for a ParliaMentors social action project, reaching up to 300 local people.

Thank you for your support in actively helping build better relations between people of different faiths and beliefs in the UK and beyond.
