Nine MPs from across the political spectrum have now joined our ParliaMentors programme. They will be mentoring 3FF’s nine teams of emerging young leaders as they develop social action projects in their university cities over the coming months.
Keir Starmer MP – Mentor for SOAS, University of London Team. Their project Camden Cares is looking at different ways of welcoming Syrian refugees to Camden.
Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP – Mentor for Queen Mary, University of London Team. The ParliaMentors’ project Equip East End will be providing career advice and opportunities for 16-19 year olds in Tower Hamlets.
Jess Phillips MP – Mentor for University of Birmingham Team. The Birmingham students’ project Outnumber Hunger is reducing food poverty through student led food drives.
Shabana Mahmood MP – Mentor for Birmingham City University Team. The team will be running a series of workshops promoting positive attitude towards mental health on campus
Geoffrey Robinson MP – Mentor for Coventry University Team. Their project is improving the welcome that international students receive in Coventry.
Mark Spencer MP – Mentor for Nottingham Trent University Team. The team’s project, Unity, is encouraging integration amongst faith and belief communities, ethnic communities and those financially excluded.
Lilian Greenwood MP – Mentor for University of Nottingham Team. Their Stand With Me project is tackling LGBTQ+, religious and disability prejudice and hate crime in Nottingham.
Yasmin Qureshi MP – Mentor for University of Salford Team. The team’s project is tackling truancy and under performance in schools via mentoring workshops.
William Wragg MP – Mentor for University of Manchester Team. The project Keep Manchester Warm organises clothing collections and distributions to homeless in order to tackle the problem of homelessness, warmth and illness.
