During the coronavirus pandemic we are talking to people from faith and belief communities across Britain about how they are dealing with this challenging situation.  How they are coping, adapting, and sometimes innovating.

This week our Communications Manager Philip Ybring speaks to Simon and Keely Bateson, Lead Pastors of Riverside Vineyard Church in Whitstable, a growing church with strong community links. We talked about how they are staying connected to their faith and their community during times of social distancing. This interview was recorded shortly after Easter, and we also discussed if the Christian festival took on a slightly different meaning during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Lead Pastors Simon and Keely live in sunny Whitstable. After growing up and raising their four children in Birmingham, they felt a calling to move down to the coast to take up the jobs they are now doing, bringing with them their big city vision and heart for local partnerships. If they’re not meeting people or building new relationships, Simon and Keely love long beach walks and late night sunsets.
