Before my internship, I was not expecting the amount of responsibility and working trust that I have been given. It’s a fairly small and interconnected office, so it is extremely easy to hop onto other team’s projects or meetings if they catch your interest.
Education & Schools Internship
The Education and Schools internship involves working closely with our Schools team to support the development of F&BF’s educational workshops and school linking programme, helping young people become confident, sensitive and effective communicators when discussing faiths and beliefs. Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting the delivery of workshops and linking day activities in schools, organising and plan events and participating in programme related planning and development.More info Apply here
To work in the fundraising department gives you a bird’s eye view of the whole organisation – as you really need to be acquainted with everything going on. This, I feel, was the best thing about my internship.
Fundraising and Events Internship
Fundraising Interns learn about and work across the F&BF teams. The purpose is to support the organisation’s Fundraising team through research, data analysis, event-planning, and communicating with a range of stakeholders (including internal stakeholders, community volunteers, prospective donors, and VIPs).More info Apply here
Aside from essential office experience, I was given lots of training on all kinds of things from fundraising and the mechanics of running a charity to public speaking and C.V. workshops.
Political Leadership Internship (ParliaMentors Programme)
ParliaMentors interns support the planning, delivery and development of the award winning ParliaMentors leadership programme. If you are passionate about politics and bringing people together, and learning the inner workings of project management, then this role is perfect for you.More info Apply here
One of my favourite things about the Comms role is working across the organisation — one day I might be discussing how the ParliaMentors team can engage their participants on social media, and the next I’ll be learning how to send out our email newsletters.
Media and Communications Internship
The Media intern will put their media and communication skills into practice by supporting the Communications team. Responsibilities include working on F&BF’s social media content and strategy, public relations, website design and updates, writing and editing articles, press releases and other written material, as well as designing promotional material.More info Apply here
The Admin, Operations and Volunteer Management intern will work closely with the Operations and Volunteer Manager to support the smooth running of the office and the internship programme itself. If you are interested in gaining hands-on office experience and working with volunteers, then this is the right opportunity for you.More info Apply here
