The Fitness, Faith & Feeling Good festival runs from Monday 1st to Friday 5th February, and platforms a range of approaches to looking after ourselves at home, showcased by diverse partners from across London’s faith and cultural communities.

A project of the Faith & Belief Forum and Maccabi GB.The Fitness, Faith & Feeling Good festival runs from Monday 1st to Friday 5th February, and platforms a range of approaches to looking after ourselves at home, showcased by diverse partners from across London’s faith and cultural communities.

Take part in at-home workouts, mindfulness sessions, and self-reflection activities.  Join our informal lunchtime meetup to chat with others about how you are finding lockdown.  Meet a panel of community experts for discussion about creating inclusive spaces, and meeting the needs of diverse communities through sport.

12:00 High intensity dance workout with Saved to Serve Dance

Saved to Serve Dance is a dance and fitness class that helps people keep fit to contemporary gospel music and upbeat instrumentals.  You can expect a fun workout using music with positive messages from different genres and cultures that leaves you sweating and smiling!

12:00 Guided meditation with Jamyang Buddhist Centre

The London Centre of Mindfulness based at Jamyang Buddhist Centre, offers secular-style meditation and mindfulness practice.  You can expect a calm guided meditation, which will involve light movement and focus on breath!

12:00 Israeli folk dance with Israeli Dance Institute

Israeli Dance Institute is a charity that promotes engagement with Jewish and Israeli dance and song through classes, workshops, and resources for schools.  You can expect fun and simple line dance steps, and to learn a few Hebrew words along the way!

19:30 Sport and Faith Panel

How can sports be used to engage communities and bring people together?

Join our panel of experts to learn from their experiences engaging and supporting diverse communities through sports. Explore approaches to creating inclusive spaces, possible barriers to participation, strands of thinking about health and wellbeing, and meeting the needs of communities through sports. There will be opportunities for networking and submitting live questions to the panel.

12:00 Yoga with National Hindu Students’ Forum UK

The National Hindu Students’ Forum UK connects students through workshops, classes, and sports competitions.  You can expect to learn about the history of yoga and to try out the practice for yourself!

The Delicate Mind explores faith, identity and mental health through workshops with a wide range of audiences.  You can expect insights from science and spirituality, and to reflect on what makes you you!

Feel free to bring your lunch or a hot drink to this informal event with the Faith & Belief Forum team.  Spend time connecting with new people, sharing your experiences of lockdown, and how you are feeling this week.

Interfaith Fun Run

When we are able to, the Faith & Belief Forum and Maccabi GB will be hosting London’s first Interfaith Fun Run. This family-friendly event is about having fun, challenging yourself, and raising money for London’s amazing charities together with others from different faiths and backgrounds.
