The IRJP is researching how faith communities responded to the far-right, anti-immigration protests and riots that occurred in the UK after the tragic murder of three young girls in Southport in the Summer of 2024.
The Faith and Belief Forum, in partnership with Interfaith Glasgow and Why Me?, are researching how faith communities responded to the far-right, anti-immigration protests and riots that occurred in England and Northern Ireland between 30 July and 7 August 2024.
We would like to hear directly from members of these communities about their experiences and any actions they took during this challenging time.
Specifically, we are interested in understanding how local places of worship, community groups, and individuals responded to the events, as well as the broader actions and changes seen in their communities.
By completing the short, anonymous survey below, you will help us gather a wide range of perspectives that will build a picture of how different communities across the UK responded during and after the riots.
If you would like to share more detailed thoughts or have a follow-up discussion, you can leave your contact details at the end of the survey.
This research is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
By submitting your answers using the below form, you are agreeing to anything you submit being included in a public report. This will be published on project partner websites, to our funder (The National Lottery), and nationally in the Interfaith and Restorative Justice sectors, as well as further afield. No identifying information from your answers will be included in the report. We will store any submissions we receive until the end of 2026 when this project comes to an end. If you have any questions about how your information is being used, please contact the lead researcher Laura Roper.
