LGBTQ+ Faith and Wellbeing Project

The LGBTQ+ Faith and Wellbeing Project is all about creating much-needed space for connection, understanding, and change at the intersection of faith, belief, and LGBTQ+ identities.

Responding to the unique and often overlooked challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people of faith, the project will focus on wellbeing, and how we can all play a role in improving the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people of faith.

Over two and a half years, the project will bring together LGBTQ+ individuals and allies from different faith and belief backgrounds to share stories, learn from each other, and take action together. The project will foster interfaith collaboration, champion mental and emotional wellbeing, and promote inclusion in both faith and community spaces.

At its heart, the project is about empowerment: supporting people to become community advocates, challenge exclusion, and create safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ people of faith.

The project is split into several strands.

The Collective will bring together a group of people from a wide range of faith and belief backgrounds, who are dedicated to improving the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people of faith.

Through a series of workshops and trainings, the Collective will explore key themes of identity, wellbeing, and storytelling, and will build skills in dialogue, peer support, and project management.

Then, working in small teams, Collective members will design and run social action projects in their local communities to address current issues in relation to LGBTQ+ Faith and Wellbeing.

The Collective will run between Autumn 2025 to Autumn 2026.

We are now recruiting for the Collective. Interested in participating? Click here!

In partnership with sector-leading education organisations, we’ll co-create and deliver training focused on inclusion in faith-based, community, and educational settings.

This training is for anyone who wants to be a better ally, offering practical tools and insights to support LGBTQ+ inclusion and wellbeing in a range of spaces.

At the end of the project, we’ll bring everything together in a practical toolkit, shaped by everything we’ve learned through the FaithFULL Collective and Community Training sessions.

We’ll launch the toolkit at a conference open to both faith-based and secular LGBTQ+ organisations, as well as education and community leaders. It will be a chance to celebrate the work done through the project, share ideas, and explore how to keep the momentum going.

This project is kindly being supported by The National Lottery Community Fund Awards For All and the Hibbert Trust.
