Join us this January for weekly creative writing and performing workshops run in partnership with the National Theatre.
Workshops will provide a unique opportunity to explore themes of belief and identity through the lens of poetry and plays, and give you the skills and confidence to create your own work.
Sessions are led by an inspiring writer and director from the National Theatre, and will be a chance to meet and explore ideas with people from different backgrounds from across London.
There will be exciting opportunities to get involved with other activities throughout the year, including trips to see shows and backstage tours.
That’s not all though! Following the workshops, you will then have the chance to rehearse and perform a brand new play at The Queen’s theatre, Hornchurch working alongside leading professional actors and a company of community performers from all over London. Part of the National Theatre’s Public Acts initiative, the show will bring together people from all walks of life to create an extraordinary piece of theatre.
These workshops build on the success of Pizza and Plays 2017-18, which culminated in an exciting production of Shakespeare’s Pericles at the National Theatre in August. Read more about this inspiring project in Eli’s blog.
