Urban Dialogues 2012

Red Gallery, Rivington Street, Shoreditch London EC2A 3DT

November 21st – 1st December 2012

"It was a great idea for a show and was really inventively put together. Art can be a great middle ground for exploring elusive or problematic issues. Like the idea of the church, it can be a meeting point"

The 4th annual Urban Dialogues exhibition featured the work of 17 selected artists alongside 3 specially commissioned artist collaborations.

For the first time this year the individual works were chosen by a selection panel:

  • Roxane Zand – Director Middle East & Gulf, Sotheby’s
  • Andrew Gwilliams – White Cube Gallery
  • Aaron Rosen – Lecturer in Sacred Traditions & the Arts, Kings College London
  • Laura Moffat – Director, Art & Christianity Enquiry
  • Catriona Robinson – London Borough of Faiths Network

Some of their choices, selected from nearly 300 submissions, can be seen on our Tumblr.

In addition the show featured three specially commissioned collaborations produced by artists from different backgrounds working together.

Over 1100 visited, many attending one of our special events.
