In partnership with National Citizen Service (NCS), we have produced three Skills Booster lessons for teachers, educators and youth leaders to help young people engage with diversity in their communities.
Using the Skills Booster Framework, we have created three resources to help those working with young people to explore the meaning and importance of interfaith approaches; create spaces to explore and celebrate identity, belief, values and belonging; and ultimately to facilitate a story writing process where young people can share their own lived experiences and build empathy for others.
These lessons are designed for young people aged 14 – but can be adapted for younger age groups. The lessons can also be used in isolation or as a package of three resources. The structure allows for them can be delivered in 15 minutes sections for youth work settings or as a whole one hour lesson – see the Teacher Guidance packs for more information.
We will also be adding a further 7 lessons as part of a complete module on Citizenship and Social Action in the coming weeks. These 10 lessons, in total, will provide a courageous and dynamic approach with which to approach difference and draw on diversity to drive positive change in society.
We would really like to hear more about how you use the resources and any reflection that students or staff have – contact us on info@faithbeliefforum.org.
