The Faith and Belief Forum has had a busy start to the year. Organising interfaith dialogue sessions between over 20 community organisations across Birmingham and the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the Building Closer Communities team has been all hands-on deck in 2021.
Now, as part of the same project, we are excited to announce the launch of a new parallel Youth Dialogue Project running in both Birmingham and Barking & Dagenham.
The project gives 16 to 26 year olds the opportunity to connect with peers from other faith and cultural communities in an interfaith setting. In the three sessions, which will run the first three Mondays in March, they will discuss a number of pertinent topics from questions of individual and communal identity to issues of global importance like climate change and Black Lives Matter.
No prior experience is required other than enthusiasm. We are looking for young people who are passionate about their communities, who want to gain the necessary skills and experience to positively engage with others, and who are interested in potentially developing links with local leaders.
If you are a young person or know one who would be interested in this project sign up at faithbeliefforum.org/youth-dialogue by midnight on Sunday 14 February.
If you are under 18 you will need to provide your parent/guardian’s details on the form so that we can obtain their consent.
We welcome young people of all beliefs and backgrounds and we look forward to meeting some of you soon!
