The Faith & Belief Forum partnered with a few mosques and a business to put together Unity Iftar in Birmingham on 1 April 2023. The aim of the Iftar was to not only bring together people of diverse faiths and share food, but also bring together the different sects within Islam under the same roof. This attracted some journalists too.

We were expecting about 350 people and had about 400 people on the day. Mahmooda, our West Midlands Programme Coordinator took an active part in helping to organise the programme, arranging the speakers and topics.  Speakers from Christian, Baha’i, Sikh and Jewish faiths were represented at the evening.  Mahmooda also chaired the event, representing the Faith & Belief Forum.

The team were very excited about being involved in such a brilliant event bringing people from so many different backgrounds together. They were so inspired that there’s talk of organising an even better one next year!
